ProPLAY takes real movements from actual NBA games and incorporates those movements into the gameplay. 2K reports they added 9,000 new ProPLAY animations in NBA 2K25, including 1,500 dribbling animations, 1,100 signature shot animations covering most rostered players from the 2023-24 NBA season, and over 1,300 new off-the-ball animations, including 150 new signature motion styles. This makes for an incredible new experience where players will enjoy more realistic gameplay both in look and feel.
NBA2K25 Game Modes
MyPLAYER Typically you want to build your player in MyPLAYER before you enter the MyCAREER mode. You can choose from different builds to craft your player.NBA Builds allow you to match your player's style and attributes to 40 different NBA stars, and they will be adding more throughout the season. Giannis, Steph, Luka, LeBron -- all the big names are available for you choose from.
2K24 was the first edition to feature Community Builds, which are spotlight creations from some of the best players in the community. You can piggyback off these builds to get your created player to compete at the highest levels. The first Community Builds will be available in Season 2.
MyCAREER Once you have your player built, it's time to start the MyCAREER mode and build your dynasty. This mode has always been fun but this year it's at a new level. Players are treated to a deeper storyline, with greater emphasis on story choices and player interactions. At the start of your MyCAREER, you can experience your player's backstory "Heart of a Dynasty," a killer feature where you can relive the four most pivotal games from your player's path to the NBA. Watch your player in a Club League Showcase Game, their high school championship game, the FIBA u19 World Cup, and even an open run with real NBA players. The MyCAREER mode also features a new City hub that offers more activities, challenges, and social spaces. This includes new locations for events and a more interactive environment. They've also given players more control over Key Games.
MyTeam: Build and manage a dream team of NBA players, past and present. Collect cards, complete challenges, and compete in various online and offline tournaments to build the ultimate squad. MyTeam now features a dynamic card evolution system where player cards can improve based on real-world performance and in-game achievements.
MyLeague/MyGM: Take control of an NBA team, managing everything from trades and drafts to team finances and player development. MyGM offers a more hands-on management experience, while MyLeague provides more customizable options for franchise management.
Play Now: Quick, casual games, when you're just up to get a game in. Play locally, against the CPU, or online against other players.
Online Multiplayer: Play games with players all around the world including ranked matches, casual play, and other events and challenges.
